Fiorentina eye Middlesbrough star : the latest
It’s no secret that La Viola aren’t the only side to be after the midfielder, with De Roon’s former club Atalanta also pursuing his signature from the Riverside based club. Boro are reportedly asking for a €15 million fee, but Stefano Pioli’s men want to lower the price.
With midfielder Borja Valero now confirmed as an Inter player after having sealed a €5. 5 million switch to the San Siro, Fiorentina want to replace the Spaniard and they see 26-year-old De Roon as the perfect choice to do just that.
De Roon was one of Boro’s best players in the Premier League last season, despite the club’s relegation to the Championship after a second-bottom finish. He scored four times and is one of those players who probably deserves to play in a better division than the Championship.
Apart from De Roon, Fiorentina co-owner Diego Della Valle is also looking to make moves for OGC Nice star Valentin Eysseric and FC Odd youngster Rafik Zekhnini as well.
