Fiorentina ponder Giuseppe Rossi's future
Having returned to Florence following a (personally) successful spell with Levante (who were themselves relegated), Pepito's situation is a complicated one. After all, last season agent Federico Pastorello told us about his relationship with Paulo Sousa, one which had never truly bloomed. Then again, fellow representative Andrea Pastorello confirmed yesterday that they will need some time to define Rossi's situation.
It feels, however, that Pepito is here to stay. He's thanked Fiorentina fans for all their support in the past, worked hard in training, appeareted upbeat... and then of course we have his first interview upong joining the team's camp in Moena: “I'm staying with Fiorentina, I want to play for a big team, and Fiorentina is one”.
Though Fiorentina were happy to loan Rossi out last season, they're still well aware of his potential- and it also appears that he's regained some of his old edge. This explains why, so far, they're rejected the lowball offers they've received (from two Liga sides and Bologna) out of hand.
If someone wants Rossi, they'll have to work hard for him.
