Florentino confirms Cristiano Ronaldo could leave Real Madrid and names his possible successor

Florentino Perez released an interview with Onda Cero talking about several issues regarding the future of Real Madrid. The Merengues’ no.1 spoke about De Gea’s chances to move to the Bernabeu but did also share his thought about a possible departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Nobody at Real wants him to leave”, Florentino said.

“It’s all very strange because Cristiano is an amazing footballer and a great person, let’s see what will happen. The only thing I know is that he feels mistreated by media. Will he stay or not? That’s what I want to know as well.”

“However I hope that the situation will be solved soon, we dont’ want Cristiano to go.”

“The last time I talked to him was after the Champions League final in Cardiff. I don’t know if Zidane has called him as well, I am not going to do it because I want him to rest during his holiday.”
(Cristiano, however, is currently on International duty with his national team).

As for Mbappé, one of the possible successors of CR7 in the Spanish capital, Florentino said: “I haven’t seen him play too many games and at the moment he’s a player of Monaco. Zidane is among his admirers, he wanted to sign him when he was younger than 16 but rules did not allow us. Of course we are following him, he’s an interesting prospect.”
