From Glik to Soriano and Boateng: How the appointment of Mihajlovic could change Torino’s transfer strategy

Sinisa Mihajlovic is in pole position to sign to replace Torino manager Giampiero Ventura who’s the number one candidate to become the new Italy national team coach.

Mihajlovic had set sights on both Nikola Maksimovic and Kamil Glik last summer, believed to be two potential reinforcement for the diavioli defence. The first one could stay for one more season with the granata, whilst time has probably come for the captain to bid his farewell to Torino.

Maxi Lopez, a player that Miha had already coached at Catania, is set to become a mainstay at the Stadio Grande Torino. The boss and the player are in really good terms and Mihajlovic could ask Urbano Cairo to bring in another of his former players: Roberto Soriano. Sealing the transfer of the Sampdoria ace, however, will be nothing easy given that also Inter and Milan are keeping tabs on him.

With Kevin-Prince Boateng’s contract that is not going to be extended by AC Milan, Mihajlovic is pondering to sign him as a free agent at the end of this season.
