From Griezman to Berardi: Simeone's Inter potential signings
Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone confirmed yesterday that he’s going to be appointed as Inter manager one day, sparking joy among the nerazzurri fans.
Calciomercato.com has analyzed el Cholo’s tactical believes and has shortlisted a potential Inter starting XI under the Argentinean tactician. Simeone’s favourite system is the 4-4-2 and there are many players at Inter that would perfectly suit Simeone’s tactics.
Simeone would build the team around the likes of Mauro Icardi, Joao Miranda, Antonio Candreva and Joao Mario , whilst Ever Banega and Cristian Ansaldi may not be among El Cholo’s favourites given that the Argentinean midfielder has been struggling to cope with playing with the tempo of Italian games, whilst the former Genoa defender has already flopped under Simeone at Atletico Madrid.
Ivan Perisic’s lazy defending approach could put the Croatian winger’s Inter future in doubt even if he’s one of the best left wingers in Europe and Simeone would definitely give him some extra motivation to shine with the Meazza hierarchy.
As for new signings, there are many Atletico Madrid players that Simeone would love to have at Inter: from Griezmann to Koke to Carrasco, not to mention that they’d all be very happy to join their mentor for a new challenge. Atletico Madrid may not have quite the same opinion and of course it’s going to be nothing easy to persuade the LaLiga giants to sell even just one of their stars.
What about Berardi? The Italian winger is a long time target of the nerazzurri and the next summer seems the right moment to take him to the black-and-white side of Milan. Given that he has never played in a position which is not the left winger of late, would he suit Simeone’s system?
