Furious Mihajlovic slams ‘unacceptable’ AC Milan, squad sent to boot camp

AC Milan manager Sinisa Mihajlovic could not hide his disappointment and frustration after the Rossoneri 2-1 defeat against Atalanta.

Talking to Radio Rai after the final whistle at Bergamo’s Atleti Azzurri d’Italia, the Serbian tactician hit out at players and offered excuses to fans.

“First of all let me offer my condolences to the Maldini family for the loss of Cesare.”

“Talking about the game, we only earned one point out of four games against team sitting behind us in the table, that’s unacceptable.”

“We are going to training camp for an undetermined period of time, at least until next week’s game against Juventus, but we’ll stay there until I see an improvement.”

“I had told the team the Atalanta game would have not be an easy one, I warned them but that was in vain. We should have had a different approach. We were lucky to go ahead and at that stage we should have killed off the game.”

“After 31 games we keep talking about the same things, that means we still miss something in terms of mentality and personality.”
“We have to take a glance behind us, because we only have one point more than Sassuolo and we’ll play a against a stronger team next week. We’ll try to prepare the Juventus game in the best way possible.”

Mihajlovic pinned the blame on his player also during a post-match interview released with Mediaset Premium.

We reduced concentration and that’s not acceptable. We’ve reached our limit, after this [training camp] I don’t know what to do anymore.”

“We’ve decided it alongside the club, though I have yet to talk to Berlusconi, but Mr. Galliani did it.”

“We have no hunger and personality, it can’t happen at AC Milan. We have lot of International players, that mean we have quality, but they need to prove it on the pitch.”

“I don’t think about my future, I have other problems at the moment, we deserve our position in the table, but we could have done more.”

“I don’t talks about El Shaarawy and Suso, I don’t talk about player who are not playing for AC Milan”
