Gandini: 'AC Milan now is different to the one I built'

Formerly of AC Milan Umberto Gandini spoke extensively with Gazzetta dello Sport about the challenges Roma against his former club tonight at the San Siro. Gandini spent 23 seasons at Milan stating “I'm tense, but not excited. My future is now ripe, memories only count for so much and I’ll treasure my experiences there.”

On Milan – “AC Milan owed so much to Silvio Berlusconi. Alongside Galliani I had plenty of beautiful years there, but I’m no longer there”

Is your objective the Scudetto?
"It's not easy to do better than second place, but we will try. Everyon works  hard every day at Trigoria, and we give our all. Mauro Baldissoni and our Director of Sport Monchi  deserve credit and I see that every day there is a progress, focusing on strategic goals. "
On the Champions league:

"Di Francesco will make the best choices, but this season's start the rotation has worked, and they are more or less all in shape, even in the final stages of a game the sufferings are due to psychological factors. Competing with Chelsea for the top spot is tough, we're optimistic. "
AC Milan-Roma tonight -  "We know this match up well. This year there are at least six teams struggling to gain entrance into the Champions League, although this is a key match. AC Milan is always threatening, but after this positive week we have had it will surely be loaded with some extra importance, and we always play to win. "

Would you say that Milan is no longer the centre of Italian Football? "The center of the Italian football has been repositioned in recent years, although the re-established competitiveness of Inter and Milan is good for the entire league. I must say that the reform for Serie A to regain four places in the Champions has worked in our leagues favour. As a matter of urgency, with more contenders, there is more interest and spectacle: Roma itself is enthusiastically encouraging our fans: not by accident we have also increased in both the subscribers and the appearances.

On Ancelotti - "Bayern has made a mistake, making him pay for internal disagreements, and I think he will take some time off, then go to a club either on the top or on the rise in Italy, maybe one day, he will come back, I do not know when."
