Here’s why Juventus could be penalized three points in Serie A

Today’s edition of Il Mattino reports that Juventus could be penalized three points in the current Serie A table because they’ve lost an appeal to the TAR (Regional Administrative Court) over the famous Calciopoli scandal.

Juventus had made appeal as the club want to get refund for the revoked 2004-05 and 2005-06 Serie A titles as well as for the automatic relegation to Serie B which came after the match-fixing scandal came to light. Lazio’s Regional Administrative Court, however, rejected the Serie A side’s appeal on the 6th of September because the club had already made a similar appeal in 2006 which was also rejected.

Now, according to lawyer Angelo Pisanidello who works for noiconsumatori.it, Juventus’ rejected appeal should lead to a penalization of three points.

“Only a few people know that Juventus must get a three point penalization for breaching of arbitration clause. It’s a clear and simple law, but nobody is interested in applying it, nor do newspapers ever mention it. A sanction must be applied.”

The lawyer has also officially asked the FIGC to take action against Juventus and the Old Lady is now in danger of seeing the gap between her and Napoli reduced to just one point in the table.
