I am too alone up front – Dzeko

Edin Dzeko has been probably one of the biggest disappointments of the season as his arrival was supposed to raise Roma’s level and help the Giallorossi win the 4th Scudetto title of their history.

Things have gone quite different so far as the former Man City striker has only netted five goals in all competitions (three in Serie A and two in Champions League).

The Bosnian’s failure at the Olimpico, by the way, does not seem to be only his fault, at least according to Dzeko’s words.

“I’ve always played alongside a strike partner or as a lone striker”, Dzeko told his Chinese fans during the Chinese’s new year.

“If I have to chose one system, I’d go for the one with two strikers.”

“My job is scoring goals, but I’ve never set myself a target in terms of seasonal goals. The most important thing to me, by the way, is that my team is successful, wins games and trophies.”

“I’ve been following Roma since when Mire (Pjanic’s nickname) came here, but I’ve always knew the importance of this club.”

“Before I came here Pjanic told me so many beautiful things about the city and the club, adding that they had everything they needed to win titles.”

“If I could chose who to play with, I’d definitely pick Zlatan Ibrahimovic.”
