‘I forgot I had been booked’, Calhanoglu apologizes with AC Milan for red card

AC Milan star Hakan Calhanoglu has apologized for the red card he got in the second half of yesterday’s rosssoneri defeat against Roma. The Turkish star was given his second yellow card of the game after a hard tackle on Radja Nainggolan.

The former Bayer star admitted that he forgot to have been booked earlier in the game. “There was a misunderstanding with Romagnoli and I forgot I had been booked. I apologize with everybody, I am really sorry I am going to miss the derby.”

AC Milan will face Inter after the International break and Calhanoglu, of course, won’t be eligible to play the incoming Milan derby.

As for the Roma clash, Calhanoglu said: “We played a great game. We created goal chances and we had an attacking mentality. I can’t remember a chance of Roma until the 70th minute. They were lucky. Dzeko’s goal stunned us and Florenzi closed the game. It’s a pity we lost the game.”
