Icardi: 100 up in Bergamo tomorrow but no goal for a month

The month of October at Inter has undoubtedly been the month of Mauro Icardi. The Argentine striker has divided opinion across calico after the release of his controversial autobiography which has even distracted from the situation surrounding coach Frank de Boer.

100 APPEARANCES FOR INTER BUT NO GOAL FOR A MONTH:
Sunday’s game in Bergamo against Atalanta will be his 100th in an Inter jersey. 100 games which has so far brought 53 goals but sadly for both captain and club, none in the last month; in fact, Icardi’s last strike was against Empoli back on September 21.

AFTER THE BOOK, A RETURN TO GOALS:
In the 30 days since he last scored, Icardi has signed a lucrative new contract at the club worth €5.5 million per season and has subsequently published an autobiography that has fractured his relationship with the club’s supporters. Lat Sunday’s missed penalty in the home defeat by Cagliari was costly, what Icardi needs above anything else, is a return to goalscoring form against Atalanta tomorrow.
