'Inter and Milan ready to invest in the stadium' according to Mayor

Milan mayor Giuseppe Sala met with AC Milan and Inter management today to discuss the issues pertaining to the much-needed upgrades demanded by both clubs for San Siro stadium. Both considered the upgrades a must if they are to continue to compete with not only Juventus domestically but also clubs from other major European Leagues.

According to our news agency ANSA the major stated the following "A working table will be opened to verify all available options,  with the aim of identifying the most suitable solution for the needs of the two city teams and fans within a few months.

“We share the same idea for a modern and refurbished stadium, which would is a valuable asset for the city of Milan and the clubs. Both sides expressed their willingness to invest. "

Inter has expressed the most desire to refurbish the stadium as they look to further their global branding and appeal. AC Milan is no less keen but must contend with debts and the massive outlay the club spent on new players over the summer.
