Inter are no longer shackled by Financial Fair Play
Among all the excitement at new signing Gabigol’s presentation at Pirelli’s Auditorium in Milan, the above quote from director of sport Piero Ausilio has generally been overlooked, yet it is fundamental in proving the difference Suning have made since taking over Inter during the summer.
Suning seem to have blown FFP out of the water, shelling out 70 million for Joao Mario and Gabriel Barbosa, with the likes of Marquinhos and James Rodriguez recently confirming that Inter have made offers for them.
It looks like Inter’s ambitions can be short-term, too, and that Suning have managed to convince UEFA of their good intentions, partly courtesy of the addition of new sponsors.
Inter fans can dream again. It’s been a while.
