Inter chase Otavio as an alternative to Yaya Tourè
That's right, cheap, because getting a 33-year-old for €10-15 million plus a non-negotiable €6 million salary isn't exactly a bargain, especially for a midfielder whose powers are on the wane. Patrick Vieira, anyone?
We mentioned recently that head scout Alessandro Mirabelli is in South America, and has been reporting back to director of sport Piero Ausilio. According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, one name is that of Otavio, a 22-year-old midfielder who plays for Atletico Paranaense, and who has received a glowing report from both Mirabelli and Roberto Mancini, who wants him to replace Gary Medel.
Though he is more of a defensive player than the technical regista il Mancio would be looking for, Otavio is promising enough to have earned serious consideration for his 8 million pricetag.
