Inter, De Boer can’t afford another false step against Pescara

Pressure is mounting. Inter fans (as well as Suning) would expect Franck De Boer to be in control of the situation in Serie A at this stage of the season with the nerazzurri who had just played two games against Chievo (away) and Palermo (home) so far, definitely not the most challenging games that the team will face this season. Next week, by instance, Juventus are travelling to the San Siro.

Franck De Boer’s side play in Pescara tonight. On the one hand, the Dutch boss already proved he is a winner as he snatched four league titles during his time at Ajax. On the other hand, De Boer is struggling to settle in well in a very tactical league like the Serie A and has probably not enough coaching experience to work successfully in Italy, at least for now.

Inter needs stability, but its manager has yet to adapt to life at the San Siro.

“Pressure is always high when you work for a big club like Inter”, the Dutchman told media yesterday, suggesting that he’s not surprised by early sacking rumours. De Boer wants more time, Suning wants immediate results even because they’ve invested a lot this summer bringing the likes of Joao Mario and Gabigol, not to mention that they haven’t sold one single big name. Some economic efforts that are leading to the results new owners wanted.

That’s why De Boer can’t afford another false step against new Serie A boys Pescara. Tonight’s game could be a crucial one for the Dutch’s future. Facing Juventus with one or two points in the table next week would be too risky and even if we are just at the beginning of the season, De Boer knows that it is vital for him to get a win tonight before facing the devastating Old Lady at the San Siro in a few days time. Doesn’t matter how, De Boer must win tonight’s Pescara clash.
