Inter: Icardi talks about experience with Nerazzuri

Argentinian striker, and Inter Milan captain, Mauro Icardi spoke of his present and future plans with the Italian club. Speaking to Argentinian TV, he said he’s worth more than the €13 million that brought him to the San Siro.

Accompanied by his wife and business manager, Wanda Nara, Icardi talked about his experiences with the Nerazzuri. “When I arrived at Inter, I was bought for 13 million euros plus two more bonuses. Thanks to goals and new contracts, and other things we have done together, today I have a higher value.”

His contract is set to expire in 2021, but he is yet to agree to any extension with the club. Rumors have begun to swirl that La Liga clubs have been weighing the potential of swooping in for the striker. Inter may want to sign him to a new, short-term, contract with a higher release clause to ward off foreign interest.

One subject Icardi failed to mention is his relationship with Mrs. Nara, which may be keeping his value down and foreign interest at a minimum. She used to be married to Mr. Icardi’s teammate Maxi Lopez, before leaving the latter and taking their children with her. As a result, Icardi has only been called up to the Argentinian national team once in the last three years.
