Hajduk Sporting Director: 'Inter assured me they were getting Susic'

Talking exclusively to calciomercato.com during the WyScout forum, Hajduk Split’s Sporting Director Goran Vucevic takes us on the behind the scenes of Tino Susic's collapsed transfer to Inter.

“Exactly one year ago we were in advanced talks with the Italian club for Susic’s sale”, Vucevic revealed to calciomercato.com’s reporters Emanuele Tremacere and Pasquale Guarro.

“Roberto Mancini liked him, as well as Inter’s Sporting Director Piero Ausilio. I met them in Milan alongside the player’s agent Milan Rapaic (the former Perugia man) and even if we did not close the deal on that day they assured us that Inter would sign him in January.”

“Things went very quickly on transfer deadline, but after Inter acquired Brozovic, Shaqiri and Podolski I didn't hear anything else from them. It was disappointing, but maybe that’s just how business works right now.”

Despite this little inconvenience, Inter are still chasing the Croatians’ star Nikola Vlasic, whose agent has recently compared to Manchester United’s legend Wayne Rooney.

“He is an amazing player, I am not the only one to say it, but the the physical tests that he regularly undergoes confirm this. He has great technical skills, he knows how to score as well as help his team-mates.”

“He’s already got plenty experience, despite his young age. Inter are not the only club that have pounced on him: many top European clubs would like to sign Vlasic too".

“We are in no rush to sell him. We prefer him to stay with us and grow for one more year. When we’ll receive the right offer we’ll decide what to do. For the moment it’s better for him to stay in his native land and play with no pressure.”
