Inter, Mancini could take sabbatical, Suning deal still far

Yesterday’s win over Empoli ensured Inter a spot in European football. Europa League qualification was this season’s minimum objective, but Roberto Mancini’s words at the end of the game can’t leave nerazzurri fans relaxed. “We are not a big team yet”, the Italian tactician told journalists inside San Siro’s press conference room.

The former Man City gaffer knows Inter’s summer transfer campaign won’t be enough to fill the gap with Juventus, not to mention that the club will almost certainly be forced to sell one of their stars in oreder to get some fresh cash to invest on new recruits.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mancini could take a sabbatical at the end of the season and he will tell Thohir his plans for the future in a meeting that is going to be held in the next few days.

Just to make things worse, La Repubblica also reports that a deal between the Serie A side and Suning is still far from being closed.  The Chinese company would acquire the 20% stake in the club for €80 million, still not enough for Erick Thohir who wants to sell a majority share (70%) for € 200 million. Definitely too much for a club which has more than € 400 million debt and lost € 140 million last year.
