Inter ready to make a move for Barcelona legend as contract talks continue to stall

The future of Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta remains unclear; the 33-year-old is heading into the final year of his contract at the Camp Nou and reports from Spain suggest that he could leave the Catalan giants this summer.

According to Don Balon, contract talks between the two parties have failed to reach an agreement which looks to have left the door open for a possible switch ahead on the new campaign. The portal also announces that Serie A side Inter are ready to make their move to try to take the midfielder to Italy. The Nerazzurri are reportedly ready to match any offer Barca puts on the table and it could now come down to what Iniesta himself wants to do as he enters the twilight of his career.

In a recent interview, the player himself stated that; “"I have always said I would like to retire at Barcelona,” he said. “It is the club I have been at since I was 12. I still have years left to play at the highest level so it is too early to decide my future, but Barcelona is where I want to be and hope to be for a long time.”
