Italy injury blow as Belotti recovery time revealed

Torino star Andrea Belotti picked up a knee injury yesterday and Torino fans have feared that their star striker could have spent several months in the sidelines.

The 24-year-old however, has undergone medical examinations today and it has emerged that the Italian has not suffered an UCL tear but a first / second degree lesion of the collateral ligament of his right knee. The Italy star will remain out of action for four weeks. His recovery time is not as long as many Torino fans feared but this month out of action may prevent Belotti from playing the World Cup qualifiers play-off with Italy.

The two play-off games are scheduled for November and the Italian striker is now officially a doubt for the double clash that will be decisive for Italy to qualify for the World Cup.

Belotti has six goals in seven games in all competitions so far this season and is regarded as Italy’s most talented centre-forward at the moment.
