Jonathan Calleri’s father goes into reverse gear over his son's transfer to Inter

Inter long-time target Jonathan Calleri won’t join the San Siro side neither in the current transfer window, nor in June, the player’s father has revealed.

“Jonathan is set to join Deportivo Maldonado and after that we’ll seek the best possible solution for his future”, Guillermo Calleri told calciomercato.it.

“He would like to play in Italy, but he needs to find a club that really believe in him. He will also obtain Italian dual citizenship before January 28, becoming eligible to join whatever European side as a EU player.

Inter have not showed that kind of interest that we would have expect from them. My son is not going to sign neither with them, nor with Bologna.”

Oddly, the same Guillermo Calleri had previously revealed that his son was ready to join the Dall’Ara side via Inter, but both him and his son have apparently changed their minds.

Calleri's move to Deportivo Maldonado, by the way, seems to be a way to bypass FIFA's rules on Third Part Ownerships since Calleri was reportedly acquired by the English Stellar Group, as our columnist Pippi Russo had previously revealed.
