Jose Mourinho tells Real Madrid to pay 100 million for De Gea

In an exclusive in Starsport this morning, the journal writes that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has held talks with Real Madrid over goalkeeper David De Gea and the Portuguese tactician has left the Spanish giants feeling aghast at what he had to say.

It’s understood that Mourinho told his former employers that they can have the 26-year-old for a fee of £45M, with striker Alvaro Morata heading in the opposite direction. Sources close to the United boss have said that this is what he believes would represent good business and will now wait for a response.

Morata (24) is valued at £60M by Los Blancos and Mourinho looks to be trying to test their resolve with a player he knows they have targeted as a priority this summer. There could be a twist in the tale however, with the news yesterday that Milan goalkeeping sensation Gianluigi Donnarumma would not be extending his contract beyond 2018 which could tempt the Spanish giants into taking a new approach.

It’s already been reported that Real are willing to pay the 18-year-old €6M net per-season to head to the Santiago Bernabeu.
