Juve, a river of cash from China: a new store opens on Alibaba

Juventus continues to broaden its horizons; as reported previously on calciomercato.com, the bianconeri have opened a store on the Alibaba platform, an e-commerce site founded in 1999 by Jack Ma, one of the businessmen who was linked with the purchase of Milan. The site has 632 million users and sells more products on-line than both Ebay and Amazon put together.

The idea is to increase the revenue from the sale of merchandising in China, a market with enormous potential. The bianconeri are not the first club to operate through this channel; Real Madrid and Bayern Munich also opened stores on Alibaba back in 2015. Juve fans will be able to buy pretty much whatever their hearts desire on the new platform and is another clear indication of just how important the Asian market is to top-flight football clubs.
