Juve, Marotta: 'We achieved all our market targets'

    • GM

During the presentation of the new acquisitions, Traorè and Rinaudo, Juventus general manager, Beppe Marotta, spoke about the market: "We have accomplished with the club's plans. We had to keep an eye on the money but also form a competitive team. Thus, we exploited the possibility to loan, something that other clubs have used, because there was a lack of liquidity".

"As far as I am concerned, we have achieved all our market targets. "Strange" negotiations? No, many news were not true, but we couldn't answer everybody and decided not to reply. Juventus is a great club that is going through a phase of restructuring. We lowered our mean age and saved money. There is a new coach and 12 new players, 50% of the whole team. It will take some time to absorbe the new tactic. Our fans must be patient, but the club is strong. Agnelli brought a new sense of belonging and continuity, also to the players. The burden and pride to wear this shirt will be the main motivation for this season. We are satisfied of the market and we look ahead with tranquillity. We also invested in the youth team and we are still working on that side".

Juventus will play Sampdoria on Sunday, Marotta's former club: "I spent 8 unforgettable years at Sampdoria. When I arrived the club was close to the second division, when I left we qualified for the Champions League. Thanks to the Garrone family and the great professionalism in the club. My heart will beat fast on Sunday".
