Juve tempted to exchange midfielder plus cash for Valencia defender

The question arises for Juventus in a post-Bonucci era. Should the Italian champions go forth and buy another central defender? The Bianconeri already boast four solid top class defenders in Chiellini, Barzagli, Rugani, and Benatia. With the departure of Bonucci as a mainstay in the middle of the Juve backline, the looming question surrounds both fans and directors alike. One such deal that could offer them a potential Bonucci replacement involves their relationship with Spanish club Valencia.

Valencia and Juve are no strangers this summer, having already transferred goalkeeper Neto between the two clubs. The Spanish club has also been reported to be interested in Juve’s surplus to requirements midfielder, Mario Lemina, with no deal emanating between the two parties as of yet. Interest from Turkey has also surfaced for the Gabonese player, who could be Juve’s key to unlock another deal.

The player of interest for Juve is Valencia’s central defender Ezequiel Garay. The 30 year old Argentine is experienced and offers the Bianconeri an immediate direct replacement for Bonucci. Most interestingly would be if Valencia would be willing to accept Lemina as part of a player plus cash offer for Garay. For now, it only remains an idea for Juve, but an intelligent one...
