    Leicester City: Ranieri chases Empoli star Saponara

    Leicester City are considering a move for Empoli star Riccardo Saponara. The Foxes’ boss Claudio Ranieri is a long-time admirer of the product of AC Milan academy, even if his role of attacking midfielder won’t not fit with the Italian’s favourite system which is 4-4-2.

    Saponara could be deployed behind Jamie Vardy in a 4-4-1-1 formation, but the Premier League champions would need € 25 million at least to sign the 24-year-old.

    Saponara’s played 144 games with Empoli scoring 26 goals and registering 35 assists. He registered ten assists and netted five goals in 34 games with the Tuscans last term.
