Leicester ready second bid for WBA defender

Leicester City are considering to make a second bid for West Bromwich Albion centre-back Jonny Evans, HITC reports.

The Foxes had made a £10m bid for the former Manchester United defender previously but it was snubbed by the Baggies.

Now, following the Foxes being put off target Ben Gibson by relegated Middlesbrough’s valuation, they have made Evans a top priority.

The Birmingham side had originally stated that the 29-year-old was not for sale at any price, but the former Premier League champions Leicester are not giving up hope yet, as an improved bid reported to be fired.

The Northern Ireland international has been at the club since the summer of 2015, after making his way from boyhood side Man United.

Since his arrival at the Hawthorns, he was been a solid and stable force in WBA’s backline, playing in 65 games for the Midlands club that finished 10th in the Premier League last season.
