Official: Donnarumma signs new deal worth €6m a year

UPDATE: AC Milan have just announced the contract extension of Gigio Donnarumma.

Gigi Donnarumma is expected to sign his new deal with Milan in the coming hours.

This is a happy day for Milan fans, who had expected their man to leave for PSG, Real Madrid or Manchester United after it was announced that he wouldn't sign a new deal with the Rossoneri last month.

18.00 DEAL SIGNED - Donnarumma has signed his deal, which will keep him with the Rossoneri until 2021. He's signed his new deal along with his brother, Antonio. Now the club needs to make the announcement official.

1330: DONNARUMMA ARRIVES - Donnarumma has arrived at Casa Milan to sign his deal, and is accompanied by his father, his brother Antonio as well as Enzo Raiola.

Here is the video of their vehicle arriving at Casa Milan.

13.38 - MIRABELLI SPEAKS - Massimo Mirabelli, Milan’s (already iconic) new sporting director “hopes that Donnarumma will sign, as well as his brother Antonio”.

13.25 - THE DEAL - Donnarumma is expected to sign a four-year deal worth €6 million a year, and which will come with a €75 million release clause.

There is another thing in this: the clause will work for Italian clubs, too.

Donnarumma looked to have left the club for good last month, when managing director Marco Fassone announced that he would not be extending the deal he is currently on, one that expires next summer.

Donnarumma’s decision was followed by a barrage of abuse from fans, as well as interest from PSG and Real Madrid.
