Napoli had been linked with a summer move for out of favour Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno but the Spanish left-back’s move to the San Paolo is now off given that the partenopei have completed the signing of Mario Rui from Roma.

The former Empoli star has agreed to join his former manager Maurizio Sarri at the San Paolo and with Fauzi Ghoulam who is still contracted with the partenopei, Napoli are not interested anymore in signing Alberto Moreno.

Mario Rui had Napoli medical in Rome yesterday and today he will be joining his new teammates in Dimaro where the azzurri are having their pre-season training camp.
Mario Rui joins Napoli on loan with mandatory buy-out clause.

The Portuguese left-back has signed a five-year deal with the partenopei. The former Empoli star joined Roma for €5 million last summer but spent most of last season on the sidelines due to a heavy knee injury he picked up shortly after his arrival in the Italian capital.
