Liverpool gaffer was told to buy Leroy Sane, Coach claims
The Liverpool Coach was advised to sign the German international back when he held the reins at Borussia Dortmund.
The scoop comes from Huddersfield Coach David Wagner, who used to work with the Normal One in Germany.
“I knew him early,” Wagner told MENSport (via the Mirror) “He was more of a character because of his age and it was part of my job to mention the big talents of Germany to Jurgen.
“I made him aware of him for the first team of Dortmund, but he signed for Schalke.”
Sane, 21, has impressed in the little time (only eight Premier League starts) given to his so far, scoring the winner against Arsenal in a 2-1 game during the holiday season.
Acquired for a hefty € 50 million, he is finally going some way to justify the price by starting the last four games, netting against Tottenham in a rollercoaster of a game at the Etihad.
