Liverpool see £36.7m bid for Serie A defender rejected

Liverpool have seen a bid of £36m for Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly rejected, according to The Sport Review

The Reds are looking to solidify their defence this summer in order to build on an impressive 4th place Champions League earning finish in the Premier League, and following a failed and infamous effort to lure the highly-rated Virgil van Dijk from Southampton, they have turned their attention to renowned centre-back Koulibaly.

But reports now suggest that Jürgen Klopps side have had their opening offer snubbed by the Serie A club, with the Light Blues determined to keep hold of their towering defender.

Last month, Koulibaly spoke on the possibility of swapping to the Premier League. He said: “It would make me happy to come and play here [Premier League], but now I am at Napoli.

“In the future you never know but now I concentrate on my club and we will see next season what I have to do.
