Lulic says sorry for racist comments

Lazio midfielder Nenad Lulic has apologized with AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger after that he had claimed that the defender of AS Roma was ‘selling socks and belts’ when he was playing for Stuttgart.

The Federal Prosecutor has opened an investigation over Lulic’s comments and the player could now face a ten-match ban after his claims.

Lazio have shared a message of their midfielder on their official Facebook account as well as on their official website. “I’ve responded to a provocation with another provocation. I come from a place that is well aware of tragedies caused by racial prejudices and I’m sorry to have been dragged by the post-derby tension which led me to pronounce that wrong statement”, Lulic has said.

Lulic’s racist statements are not the only issues emerged after yesterday’s derby as two English fans were hit by supporters of AS Roma in the area of the Stadio Olimpico at late night yesterday. Police have opened an investigation and are currently actively looking for two AS Roma fans who are believed to be responsible for the aggression, whilst one of the two English fans was charged by the police as he was found in possession of cocaine.
