    Through his Facebook account, AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini has explained why he refused the offer received by his former club’s new owners: “Milan has always been in my heart, and this strong link makes me be particularly attentive; it would have been easy to follow the emotion and accept, but I must respect the values that I have been followed during my whole career.”
    “I want to make something clear: it’s not me who broke the secrecy of the negotiation and I haven’t made some particular requests from the financial point of view”, he added. “I didn’t even ask for a role like Galliani’s: I know my potentials, but also my limits. They offered me a role as a Technical director, but they has already chosen a director of Sports; I think that they were not the conditions to create a winning team. I never asked to meet the club’s owner to bypass the new CEO: I just wanted to know what they expected from me. I think that every professional has the right to ask this.”
