Maldini fires broadside towards his former club

Former Milan legend Paolo Maldini has been speaking to Telelombardia about the current state of the club. Asked if he would consider a return to the club in some capacity he explained that; “It is not true that I live and work in Miami. I live in Milan and I’m only a co-owner. Problems of Mila; Milan is missing a level of technical expertise. Two CEO’s create confusion. Something is wrong. Paradoxically Milan is the club that has the most employees in Italy, but it is structure is all wrong. As regards the technical area, this is absolutely inadequate. Allegri called me, Barbara Berlusconi called me and I said with whom do I speak? There is no one to talk about football too. In the big European clubs the great players become part of the technical staff. In Milan this does not happen”.

    BERLUSCONI AND THE FUTURE
Maldini then had this frank assessment about President Silvio Berlusconi; “In the current set-up I could not return, we have two visions that are totally different. If I were to take a role in the club what I would like is to have my right of choice. I think it speaks volumes about the way the club is that they have not seen in me as someone suitable for this role”.

    POSSIBLE NEW OWNERS
On the possible takeover by a Chinese consortium Maldini explained that; “This is not a question you should be asking me. If I were to offer 750 million to buy the club I would hope that they would ask for my opinion. It seems strange that the club cannot decide who to put in control so what will happen I do not know”.
