Man City striker gains attention from Conte and Chelsea, rumors of €68 offer

Reports out of England today via The Daily Star, extend what The Mirror reported yesterday concerning Chelsea coach Antonio Conte’s preference for Man City striker Sergio Aguero. Initial reports suggested that Chelsea were ready to bring forward a 60 million GBP offer for the speedy Argentine, who is considering his future with the Citizens.

As both Manchester clubs and many others continue to gain ground on the transfer market, Chelsea thus far have been slow to act. The mismanagement of the deal for Lukaku that led to the player going to Man U, in addition to the lack of prominence of the Blues so far, have left Chelsea supporters wondering how their club will compete in both the Premier League and Champions League without some serious introductions.

With Morata, Belotti, and Aubameyang all slated for a possible move to Chelsea, reports of an Aguero switch could give the Blues a boost both in their squad and on the summer market. Antonio Conte knows well the importance of a squad depth to compete domestically and in Europe, and he will be leaning on Chelsea’s directors to act quickly and precisely in the coming days and weeks.
