Man City to battle Chelsea for Real Madrid right-back

Manchester City are prepared to battle Chelsea for the signature of Real Madrid right-back Danilo, according to the London Evening Standard.

The Blues have been linked to the Brazilian defender for some time but are yet to agree a fee for his services, with Madrid asking for £30.8m.

Man City have already bought England international Kyle Walker from Tottenham Hotspur for £50m but are still in the hunt for a full-back after missing out on Dani Alves, as he ended up signing with Paris Saint-Germain.

Danilo can canter for manager Pep Guardiola as he can play both on the left and right wing.

Blues manager Antonio Conte has registered his interest after he seemingly missed out of £60m – rated Alex Sandro of his former club Juventus.

Juventus had to pull out after their defender Bonucci made a shock move to Serie A rivals AC Milan.

Danilo made 55 appearances for Real Madrid since arriving from Porto in 2015.
