Man United boss Mourinho wants Arturo Vidal as alternative to Chelsea midfielder

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has turned his attention to Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal as an alternative to Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic.

The Portuguese manager is looking to bolster Man United’s midfield, but with moves for main targets Eric Dier and Matic carrying their own difficulties – Spurs rejected three bids for Dier and Matic will cost up to £50m as Chelsea are selling to a rival club. Mourinho is now focusing on Chile international Vidal as an alternative, should there be any sort of break down in the Serbian’s move back to play under his former boss.

The Starsport via the Daily Star are suggesting that a move could well be on the cards, as the 30-year-old box-to-box player is understood to be keen on a move to Old Trafford. But it may well depend on Chelsea and their man Matic – who, as reported by CalcioMercato, is looking to be edging nearer and nearer to a switch to Manchester.
