Man United hopeful of Morata switch before pre-season tour

Manchester United believe that they can finally seal the deal for Alvaro Morata before the team fly out to the USA for a pre-season tour, reports local news outlet Manchester Evening News.

Man United boss Jose Mourinho is working closely with the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward in order to wrap up all major targets that they are pursuing, and now, M.E.N Sport are saying that a deal for the highly-rated Real Madrid striker Morata could be finalised before they head across to America on Sunday.

Following Zlatan Ibrahimović’s lengthy injury last season, the club eventually released him, leaving vacant spot for a talented striker to fill the hole left by the Swede.
24-year-old Morata is considered a major target, having thoroughly impressed spectators with his spell at Serie A side Juventus, whilst also chipping in goals for La Liga giants Madrid last season.

If a deal is completed this week, it would be a major boost for Mourinho, as he looks to confirm other key targets during the coming weeks of the summer transfer window.
