Man United rejected €55m Arsenal signing: 'too many penalties'

Manchester United didn’t want to sign Alexandre Lacazette, according to the latest news.  In fact, they actively turned down the opportunity to sign him.

The Manchester Evening News report that Jose Mourinho wasn’t so convinced by the French star, who scored 28 Ligue 1 goals for Lyon last season, and was signed for €53 million by rivals Arsenal.

One of the reasons was, apparently, that ten of those goals came from penalties, something judged to be too much by Man United’s top brass.

The Red Devils opted instead for Romelu Lukaku, who joined for €85m from Everton.

Mourinho is, in fact, cited as being the main figure opposed to Lacazette’s arrival.

Lacazette scored a total of 37 goals in all competitions last season, but is still finding himself being snubbed by France.

Juventus have set a price for star winger Juan Cuadrado.

The 26-year-old scored 129 goals in a total of 275 games with the Gones.
