Manchester City prepare opening bid for Dani Alves

Manchester City are closing in on the signing of Juventus star Dani Alves, according to several reports. Calciomercato.com exclusively reported yesterday night that negotiations between the two clubs had begun and The Guardian reports the Premier League giants have prepared an opening bid to sign the former Barcelona star.

Dani Alves has reportedly rejected Juventus’ contract extension offer and Guardiola seems to have persuaded his ex player to join him at Manchester City. The British paper claims Manchester City are ready to offer roughly € 6 million (£ 5 million) to secure the services of the 34-year-old who has recently admitted that he would be open to move to England in the future.

“I did not move to England last summer because I felt like I needed to learn how to defend better. You must be a very good defender to play in England and Italy could teach me a lot. I still hope I am going to move to the Premier League one day. When? I don’t know, let’s see.”, the Brazilian has recently told Canais Esporte Interativo . Chelsea are also interested in the player but Manchester City are believed to be the favourite club to sign the Brazilian super star.
