Spanish sports daily As claims that Manchester United are continuing to monitor Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes. The 23-year-old Portuguese international arrived at the Camp Nou last summer in a deal worth £41.7M from Valencia but has struggled in his first season at the club.
 

With Luis Enrique now gone, new Barca boss Ernesto Valverde is looking to stamp his authority on the team and after making just 17 starts last season, Gomes could be one of the players heading for the exit.
 

With Italian midfield ace Marco Verratti reportedly ready to arrive this summer, Gomes’ fellow countryman at United, Jose Mourinho, may be about to offer the player a way out of Catalonia. The Red Devils are now monitoring the situation and are ready to make their move if Valverde decides to off-load.
 

With Gomes currently in action for Portugal at the Confederations Cup in Russia, Serie A champions Juventus are also believed to be weighing up the possibility of bringing him to Turin but with Jorge Mendes as his agent (the same as Mourinho) United remain in pole-position.
