Manchester United tie up deal for highly-rated Swedish defender

After a six-month chase, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho looks to have finally managed to land Swedish defender Victor Lindelof. Portuguese journal Record claims that the Red Devils will tie up the deal for the 22-year-old Benfica man for a fee of £30M.

Mourinho had hoped to bring the player to Old Trafford in the January window but Lindelof signed a new contract with the Lisbon side which appeared to send a strong signal that he wasn’t for sale. The Portuguese tactician however, has continued to press and these latest reports suggest that he has landed another of his main summer targets.

As we reported earlier on Calciomercato.com earlier, a deal to bring Inter midfielder Ivan Perisic to the Premier League is nearing its completion and with Lindelof likely to follow in the coming days. The Portuguese tactician has given CEO Ed Woodward a list of his names he wants at the club next season as he prepares an assault on the Premier League title.
