Marseille chase €35m Tottenham outcast

Moussa Sissoko could be headed back to Ligue 1, if the latest reports from England are accurate.

The Daily Mirror believe that the midfielder is on Marseille’s transfer wishlist.

The former Toulouse player was sold to Tottenham for £30 million (€35m) last summer, but he’s failed to make much of an impact in Spurs’ star-studded midfield.

The French international – who had a good game in Les Bleus’ Euro 2016 final loss to Portugal – has struggled for playing time at White Hart Lane, leading him to look for alternatives.

Coach Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t see the midfielder as part of his plans, either.

Marseille, for their part, want to keep enriching their team since the recent takeover of Frank McCourt, an American tycoon and former owner of the LA Dodgers.

Sissoko was considered to be one of Ligue 1’s best midfielders when he was at Toulouse, and was originally linked to moves to France’s biggest clubs, including PSG.
