Milan add injury to insult

AC Milan added injury to insult as Croatian Nikola Kalinic will miss his national team’s final two qualification matches with an injury. The striker played in Sunday’s devastating home loss to AS Roma, and will likely need more time to recover.

After originally calling him up to represent his country, the Croatian federation announced he would remain with his club to recover. It appears that an MRI has revealed an adductor strain for Kalinic.

Nikola Kalinic will be in Milan today for examinations and if there will be no problems with his adductors , then he will join us,” said Croatian manager Ante Cacic prior to the test results.

“Sunday he had to take painkillers to play against Roma, I talked to him after the match. Our medical staff is in constant contact with Milan and Nikola is currently in doubt.”

The summer addition from Florentina has played seven matches for the Rossoneri, scoring twice.
