Milan can't afford Chelsea star's €12m wages

Diego Costa is looking like an unrealistic target for AC Milan, according to the latest reports.

The Rossoneri are looking to reinforce their attack, and were considering the Chelsea striker alongside the likes of Alvaro Morata, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Andrea Belotti.

According to Tuttosport, however, the Brazilian striker may be out of the question because of salary issues: it looks like he won’t budge on his current deal, in which he makes 12 million a year.

The 29-year-old has repeatedly threatened a departure from Stamford Bridge, getting into a spat with the club over the winter over lucrative offers received from Tianjin Quanjian, who have returned to the fore in the last few weeks.

Milan, for their part, looked the closest to striker Alvaro Morata, having agreed personal terms with him.

Trouble is, Real Madrid Coach Zinedine Zidane went to the board to try to persuade them to keep the Spaniard, something which has caused the transfer talk to cool down somewhat.
