Milan-Honda, the future is uncertain: the player waits for the new owners

The summer transfer market is closed but it never really sleeps, especially for those who have uncertain futures. At Milan Keisuke Honda is one of these people having slipped down the pecking order at the club. His contract expires next year but how much longer he actually remains will be up to the new Chinese owners.

RENEWAL - THE CHINESE WILL DECIDE:
Some good performances towards the end of last season forced Milan to think about offering him a contract extension. Initial contact between his agent (and brother) and Galliani took place but then everything was frozen due to the imminent arrival of the new owners and Marco Fassone as the new CEO. Now the 30-year-old faces an anxious wait to see if will figure in the clubs future plans.

    OFFERS FROZEN:
It’s not as though Honda has a lack of admirers around the world; after negative reports from Sunderland and Crystal Palace, interest began to surface from Germany, Spain and the USA. For now however, Milan has the priority and this particular situation still has a way to run before its concluded.
