Milan: Juve should step forward for 'priceless' Donnarumma

Milan are sending mixed messages about famous wantaway Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Wanted by PSG, Real Madrid and Manchester United, the Mino Raiola client told Milan two days ago that he wouldn’t renew with them.

Juventus have been linked to the 18-year-old for a while, and director Giuseppe Marotta admitted yesterday that it was the Old Lady’s “duty” to try to snag him.

Yet the Rossoneri seem to be contradicting themselves. Sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli says that Donnarumma isn’t going anywhere: “Ownership’s input is to not accept offers, if anything because Donnarumma is priceless to us,” Mirabelli confirmed to the Corriere dello Sport.

Marco Fassone, for his part, told Juventus to step forward if they wanted the teenager.

“I would be surprised if Marotta had said the opposite,” the CEO confirmed, “Marotta is very talented: if he wants a goalkeeper, we’re here”.

Mirabelli continued: “We wanted to give our fans a symbol, and Gigio had everything to become one: he’d have been made captain and, frankly, the offer was huge, considering his young age and the burden it would be on the club.

The Sporting director then had some words for Raiola...

“€25 million over five years net is actually a €50m spend for the club. From a personal perspective, we’ve not taken it well, also because there were no real talks.

“It’s not true that there was tension with Raiola on Thursday, and that we argued with him. Both sides took the situation into account and went their separate ways.”
