Morata's international buddies tell him to join them at Manchester United

It seems as though everyone is getting in on the act to try to convince Spanish striker Alvaro Morata to join Manchester United. The Mirror reports that the 24-year-old’s international team-mates David De Gea and Ander Herrera, have told the Real Madrid frontman that his future would be best served at Old Trafford.

After a season where he has failed to hold down a regular starting berth in Zinedine Zidane’s all-conquering side, United boss Jose Mourinho is also understood to have contacted him in person to tell him that he will be his number one hit-man next term.

Spanish number one De Gea is the man who has been previously linked with being part of any cash plus player exchange that would bring Morata to the Premier League but with the Red Devils seemingly holding out for a fee of around £65M, Real Madrid may now consider looking elsewhere for goalkeeping reinforcements.

For his part, Herrera, who was the United Fans’ Player of the Year last season, is set to sign a new five-year deal at old Trafford despite recent reported interest from Barcelona. Over the weekend, BEIN Sport anchor-man Richard Keys claimed a €70M deal for Morata had already been done.
