Morata completes Man United deal but Ronaldo situation delays announcement

Manchester United have wrapped a deal for Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata but the Cristiano Ronaldo saga has pushed back the official announcement, according to reports at Diario gol via the Daily Express.

The departure of Zlatan Ibrahimović has left a vacancy in the Man United striker role. Manager Jose Mourinho needs someone who can fill the boots of the 35-year-old Swedish forward who scored 28 goals for the Red Devils last season.

24-year-old Morata fits the bill completely, and has subsequently emerged as Mourinho’s number one target for the summer.

The La Liga giants have given the Spaniard sporadic game-time, yet Morata still managed to bag 20 goals last season for Real.

Man United were closing in on the player but now reports are surfacing that he has now actually struck a deal that will see him playing at Old Trafford next season.

The problem has been the situation with Ronaldo, but as he has recently withdrawn his desire to quit the current Champions League winners, it looks like former-Juventus man Morata is on his way to south-west Manchester.
