Moratti's wife: 'Thohir didn't understand the Inter community'

Massimo Moratti’s wife has launched a carefully-worded critique of current Inter owner Erick Thohir.

Set to sell the club to the Suning Consortium, the Indonesia magnate has come in for some slack.

“Maybe he needed to understand the Inter community better,” Milly Moratti told Antenna 3, “probably because he never lived here, he was far away”.

“I hope that, if a foreigner arrives, that he’ll pick some local managers. Otherwise all they get is the Inter logo, but the club is so much more than that”.

“Zhang Jindong’s son seems like a very curious person, interested in new economies and the city of Milan”.

Milly then went on to speak about her husband, and what she would like to see Inter do in future.

“Massimo is as lost as all Interisti are, he’s thinking of defending the club’s very strong values… for example, the club is known around the world for its Inter Campus, we want to preserve this”.

“Massimo always made decisions from a fan’s perspective. Thohir, on the other hand, has taken more ‘normal’ decisions, according to marketing logic, whilst we know how to bring out the fans’ enthusiasm. We need to balance these two things”.
